Preakness Celebration Balloon Festival

Our 2016 Festival was a Huge Success and with it came traffic and parking delays for many. The public turnout was five times greater that last year. And 30 buses operating as fast as they could were unable to keep up with the movement of people. We were caught short! For this I apologize. It will not happen the next time.

The Long Running Preakness Celebration Balloon Festival is one of many events planned during the week-long series of special events celebrating the annual running of the Preakness Stakes, Baltimore's "Super Bowl" and the 2nd jewel in thoroughbred racing's prestigious Triple Crown. The Hot Air Balloon Festival has a long and colorful tradition going back 40 years.

Turf Valley in Ellicott City, Maryland brightens the skies again this year as the Centerpiece Venue for hosting the long running balloon festival. Spectators enjoyed the wonder of hot air balloons, specialty crafts, entertainment, and good food during this fun, family-friendly festival.
